Procurement
NON-ITAR COTS and GOTS
Bad Wolf Technologies Mission Recording Systems are in use by the USN, USAF, and international clients. These non-ITAR COTS and GOTS systems may be purchased directly from Bad Wolf Technologies or through select defense contractors or distributors selling to the U.S. government. Since Bad Wolf Technologies’ products are non-ITAR COTS & GOTS, there are no prolonged delays or headaches due to export paperwork. There’s no need to deal with ITAR and the complications it brings.
“Easy Button”
Bad Wolf Technologies’ Red Hawk HD, DR.I, and Corsair military DVRs are qualified to MIL-STD-810G, 461F, 461E, and 464C for both airborne and shipborne use.
The Red Hawk HD video recorder has an NSN number (P/N: BW-RHN-SSD, NSN: 5836-01-676-1067 TACTICAL VIDEO RECORDER), making procurement easy (or easier). It’s like pushing an “EZ Button.”
Requirements
Needs Analysis
Bad Wolf Technologies does not try to fit “a round peg into a square hole.” Its defense and government sales team starts by performing a needs analysis with support from the engineering team. Once the customer needs have been identified, they are compiled into a “nice to have” vs. a “must have” requirements matrix.
Compliant
The sales team proposes two options. Option 1 covers “must have” requirements, and Option 2 provides a combination of “must have” and “nice to have” features. It is then up to the client to select one of the options.
If the solution, while not fully compliant with the requirements matrix, can be made to comply within a reasonable amount of time, the client receives a proposal for a modified COTS/GOTS system.
Not Compliant
If the team feels that its products are not in compliance with customer requirements and it will take a substantial amount of effort, the decision is made to either (i) bring the solution into compliance, or (ii) respond to the RFQ with “No Bid.”
The client may decide to (i) have Bad Wolf Technologies design a one-off custom solution, (ii) invest resources into modifying an existing one, or (iii) accept an existing solution as is. Ultimately, the client drives the decision. As the saying goes, “He who pays the band orders the music.”
Building blocks
System components (building blocks) are based around Bad Wolf Technologies’ high-definition (3G-SDI & HD-SDI) and standard-definition (RS170, CVBS NTSC & PAL) cameras, DVRs (Digital Video Recorders), video processors, multi-viewers, and switchers designed for the markets Bad Wolf Technologies serves.
These components, designed for aircraft, rotorcraft, boats, and ships, are used globally in missile testing, on-vehicle recording, airborne and naval activities, flight testing, flight schools, pilot training, geospatially-enabled mission recording and debriefing, special mission aircraft, ISR, CAS, and other civilian and defense applications. We also supply complete and board-level solutions for many other defense projects requiring 1080p, 720p, or RS170/CVBS (NTSC or PAL) with H.264 high-performance and low-latency encoding, recording, and/or streaming.
